Week 11 Summary

There were eleven losing picks this week. Six had CIN (beaten by OAK,) four had PIT (beaten by KC,) and one had HOU (beaten by TEN.)

This is getting interesting. There are only three entries left for first place. Former champion Paul Bowman, Jeff Fowler, and Charles Semon.

Four entries dropped out of first place with their initial loss.

Seven entries dropped out of the contest. Say goodbye to Andy Bardach, Lincoln Barrett, Mike Boggs, Kevin Kelley, Renee Setta, Steve Taylor, and Chris Williams.

Note that if the final three all lose on the same weekend everyone with one loss will be eligible for first place.

Counts:
3 alive for first
23 alive for second (20 with one loss)
21 out

Week 9 Summary

Six entries picked a loser this week. Four lost for the first time. All six had GB to beat TB. It didn't happen. TB won their first game against now 4-4 GB.

It's amazing how some of the best teams early in the season are now mediocre, GB, NYG, NYJ, and BAL come to mind.

Look at the trend when you're making your selections.

Say good bye to former champion Josie Valcho and Tim Swigor who both lost for the second time.

Counts:
7 alive for first
31 alive for second (24 with one loss)
13 out

Week 8 Summary

There was only one losing entry this past week. Josh Brown picked AZ over CAR. CAR pulled the upset on the road. This sure looked like a good pick before the game started.

In my opinion the three easiest picks this week were CHI, DAL, and SD. Unfortunately for Josh, he had used all three in previous weeks. King of the Hill is tough!

Counts:

11 alive for first
32 alive for second (22 with one loss)
12 out

Dave Parker

My friend Dave Parker passed away from leukemia this week. Dave was sick over the past year, but was thought to be in remission when he was found at his home on Thursday.

Dave moved to Atlanta about a year before we moved to Benton, LA. As with many similar situations we talked less and less often, but Dave always played King of the Hill and through this mechanism we continued to communicate.

Dave was a great guy, and we had plenty of good times together, mostly on the golf course, when we played regularly at River Chase in Coppell, TX. I was actually one of the witnesses to a hole-in-one Dave had at RiverChase. And who can forget his laugh, a deep uck uck uck. I'm sure I'll hear someone laugh like that in years to come and I'll say that guy laughs like Dave Parker.

I am praying for his family and hope they are doing well.

Tim Krisher works with Dave and will continue to make his pick. I see that Dave had SD this week. I'm not sure if Dave placed that entry or if Tim made the pick. If Tim did not make the pick and can't figure out the account password, Dave's picks will be played separately and will be posted on the blog. If his pick wins out Tim will direct the prize money to his daughters.
